Your Library Card
At the issuing counter You can get a library card. The library card can be used at the libraries in Bollnäs, Hofors, Hudiksvall, Ljusdal, Nordanstig, Ockelbo, Ovanåker, Sandviken and Söderhamn municipalities.
 
Your library card is personal and a valuable document. You are responsible for everything that is borrowed on Your card and You are also liable to pay compensation. Parents are responsible for the things that their children borrow.
Please inform us if you happen to loose Your card.

Loan periods
Books and books on CD 28 days (If there is a queue the loan period is shortened to 14 days.)
Short time loan 7 days  
CDs an music videos 14 days  
Magazines 14 days (The newest issue cannot be borrowed.)
Films 7 days (Age limit 15 years when borrowing films.)
CD-rom/computer games 28 days  
Renewing Your loans
You can renew Your loans if no one else has ordered the item.
Acception: Short time loans cannot be renewed.
In the library cataloguelänk till annan webbplats, öppnas i nytt fönster You can renew You loans by logging in at Mitt konto (My account) with Your library card number and your PIN code. (You can get a PIN code at the issuing counter.)
Returning borrowed items
Returning borrowed items can be done at any public library in Gävleborg.
Fines for returning items too late
Books and other media 1 skr per day
Films 30 skr per day
No fines for borrowers under the age of 18.
Administrative fees
Inter-library loan 5 skr
Reservation 5 skr
Reservation of films 20 skr
Lost library card 20 skr
No administrative fees for borrowers under the age of 18.
Compensation for lost or destroyed items
Books or CD-books for adults 300 skr
Books or CD-books for children 200 skr
CD 200 skr
Childrens' CD or DAISY 150 skr
Magazines 50 skr
Film, language course or CD-rom 500 skr
The library does not take responsibility for damage that might occur to an electronic device where borrowed media has been used.
